I have always loved the relationship between these two, and watching it grow over time, and this is the most fantastic payoff. Because from here, it can go anywhere. and I cannot wait to see what happens to it

Well at least they are finally speaking honestly with eachother, and all the truths have been laid bare, the lies exposed. Or at least all the ones we know of anyway. So now its up to them both to decide their path forward, knowing what the other is capable of committing and enduring. I don't expect a confession, not of love or anything, with the possible exception of something like "I never hated you, I always cared about you, its why I pushed you away, etc." Jack has spent too long suppressing his emotions and hurt Cynthia too much by pushing her away, and Cynthia has been angry for too long for it to just switch back. But now at least there is a chance.
