When JD says โpeople vanishโ, itโs another reference to his mom. He thinks his mom walked into the building to escape her life. Itโs why he doesnโt hate his dad for it, but thinks heโs avoiding the truth. It also explains why his dad is constantly running from it, moving them across the country.
