🕑 Added 2019-03-09 16:07:56 +0000 UTCWork has begun on officially deploying the new server with 77TB of storage.
During this time you may see some blank pages or stuff may be "gone" entirely from the main site as stuff is transferred. This is due to me having to free up some space on a filled drive to compress a few large collections of tiny files. Nothing will be lost as larger items will be transferred first.
A few other changes are coming as well as general improvements to the site and the backend.
To those who are technical, I'm taking extra steps to avoid a python / ruby superfund site.
In addition to planning forward, the new server also has HDD's in the datacenter on a shelf in case we need to swap out an HDD in the ZFS array. There is also some general background security improvements.
Some users of the archive were complaining about slow page load times with large indexes of files. I am working on a solution for this once the system is running. In addition to this, a search function will be wrote after Spikebot's deployment that hopefully can be a less painful experience than bugging me for a search of a file or ID.
