Eddie & Kal βπ vacation breakfast
🕑 Added 2025-02-03 18:00:06 +0000 UTCWhen winter rolls around in new england, nothing's better than a vacation somewhere tropical. Kal picked a spot with a private pool for him and Eddie - and good room service, it looks like. Eddie's diving into a little extra snack. That warm sunlight must feel nice...
I really pushed for a Ghibli-inspired animated look to this piece! I decided to paint the background in a lot of realistic detail, but keep the characters much flatter and more cel-shaded. This is the kind of separation of style between character and environment that you'd see in a still from a Ghibli movie - do you guys think it works? It was a fun challenge to push my typical style in a new direction!!

And then thereβs me, the waiter who came up to get their order for lunch, watching for several minutes waiting for them toβ¦ finish. I love my job.
