NEW VIDEO!! Derek's Weird Controller Collection | [SSFF]
🕑 Added 2021-12-01 01:27:22 +0000 UTCHey all!
Happy holidays! So we ended up having a difficult time getting videos started up during this month. The Xbox One video is probably my favorite video that we've made ever, with the N-Gage Past Mortem being a close second, but unfortunately those videos are difficult to replicate quickly! Also, they take a bit of time to recover from. So this video is more of a chill video, going over some of Derek' s controller collection.
For December, we are planning on having one more Delisted episode plus the Past Mortem on the Zeebo. We wanted to have those videos out sooner, but a couple of factors including shipping delays made us need to put those on the back burner during this month. We've been having a difficult time balancing so many different video ideas, topics, and formats, but I'm really happy with how this turned out.
Derek and I are starting to realize that we want to continue to make longer videos, like in the 40 min + range, which is exciting! I'm also noticing that I personally enjoy watching long videos on YouTube. Kinda odd considering the idea of watching a 90 min movie gives me stress sweats, but I would love watching a 120 min + breakdown on that movie? Don't know how that works. It's becoming clear that we need to reshape our workflow to make longer, more comprehensive videos like the Xbone video possible to make without us crashing.
So with that in mind, I wanted to give y'all the first heads up that we're going to make some changes to our channel and to our Patreon next year. One thing we're going to do is switch the Patreon from per video to monthly starting in January. (finally!) It's something many of you have been asking for a while, and I'm sorry it took us so long to get there! But it's finally happening once we get ourselves through December π
I don't think that all of our shorter form videos like Punching Weight or Delisted will go away. I think that they will be more comprehensive and entertaining than before! Our first experiment with a longer form Punching Weight is going to be a video covering every single commercially released Zeebo game. This is inspired partially by the N-Gage Punching Weight we did earlier this year, where we didn't end up covering as many games as I'd have liked due to time constraints. Honestly, I hope to do a pseudo remake of that video next year, but with every N-Gage game. I am excited! And then maybe I'll finally be free from cell phone based systems....
...Or maybe not.
I'm going to put up a dedicated blog post later this month that lays out my thoughts on this more clearly, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up now. We appreciate you all!
Thanks,
Grace (& Derek)

My PS1 Resident Evil 2 controller is a pretty dumb peripheral that I proudly own. Had a gun grip and X button on the trigger as well as RE2 appropriate button layout and labels that were only correct for RE2 so you couldn't even really use it with the other PS1 resi-titles.

Proud owner of 4 Donkey Konga's here, you obviously never played the games with 4 players, it's a blast! Truth be told, some of the covers are REALLY bad, but hearing people (trying to) drum at exactly the same time or following up each others drumrolls is pretty cool.

WHOA, what is that chiptune version of Bodyjar's "Not the Same" that plays at 6:11 and 8:50? Bodyjar are from my hometown and are one of my favourite bands, but I've never heard that before. I know the regular version of that song was in Tony Hawk 3, is that from one of the mobile ports or something?

Love a good collection video! No dumb controllers in my possession, sadly, but I do keep eyeballing 8bitdo's switch/PC fightstick, just to see how it shakes out with Smash. Can't get myself to pull the trigger, though, at least not yet.

I actually have the Steel Battalion controller complete and in a box. IΒ΄m an Xbox collector so that was a must at some point and about two years ago I just did it :)

Ahhhhh that GBA is rad! Proud owner of a GBA Micro which honestly is pretty dumb, but so good for playing FF on. Keen for more dumb collection videos, too!

You should watch some of the Amico content by Slope's Game Room on YouTube. Also, no Onimusha PS2 sword controller?
