Considering the moon's significant reduction in mass would result in a weaker gravitational pull thus the waters around the world would settle in a more even state. The sides closer to the moon at the time of it's "reduction" would have the waters lower a bit while in other areas would have them rise a bit. That's my understanding of how that science works. I haven't seen the show so I'm here as a newbie to it as well.☺

Yay!! This is my 4th favorite anime between Dragonball, My Hero Academia, and Haikyuu!! The intro is hands down the funniest and catchy song ever lol.
