G'day all,
I know that everyone is eagerly awaiting news of my recovery, specifically when it will be far enough along that I get back to the writing. The honest answer is that I don't know, but allow me to go into a little more detail.
As most should know by now, I got very sick. Family flying across the country to say goodbye to my comatose body sick. While I am now definitively out of the woods and recovery is a matter of time, the question is how much time. The answer to that question is 'a lot.'
That being said, I fully intend to be writing well in advance of full recovery. I am currently residing in the town where my mum lives, because I've been too sick to travel home. Getting a writing space set up has taken far longer than I would like, and it literally got sorted about an hour ago. After getting the damn speakers and internet to work, this post is the first task I have undertaken.
I'll be finally heading home in about three weeks. I'm not looking forward to that day, as it will likely knock the crap out of me. The day after, I'll be appearing via video call at LitRPG Con, which I am very sorry I had to cancel my live appearance at.
In the meantime, I am going to start writing again in the morning, which I am quite eager for after four months where all my writing has been inside my head. I can't wait to get actual words on the page again, but I don't know how well I'll hold up to the kind of extended writing sessions it will take to get back to the old output rate. I am still extremely weak and the drugs I will still be on for months take a savage toll on my body. The only thing worse than the drugs, in fact, is the thing in my body the drugs are killing.
For the moment, I'll be stress-testing my ability to handle long writing sessions, with no current estimate for when chapters will resume. I don't want to start releasing again until I can reliably release chapters on the old schedule of three per week. I'll have a better idea of how I'm doing after a week or so of testing the waters, and I will give you all another update.
The bad news is that the chapters are unlikely to resume in the short term, as I expect the hiatus will continue through July. As pleased as I am that my recovery is progressing, most of that progress is reflected in test results. In myself, I am still feeling extremely bedraggled. I still can't function daily without assistance and even a simple shopping trip leaves me somewhere between asleep on the couch and in the bathroom throwing up.
On that delightful note, I will leave this post here. I just want to express my gratitude for the outpouring of support and positivity with which I have been showered during the most difficult time of my life. Thank you all.

I saw someone posting in FB that Shirt was recently participating remotely on q&a session on Litrpgcon. So things probably havent gone worse, i guess its good news.

Oh Shirt, Please know that you have been in my thoughts everyday. Your health and recovery should be your focus. As much as HWFWM is my litrpg first love, I’m sure everyone can agree that we would rather have you and your brilliant imagination healthy and around longer rather than a new chapter now instead of later. Sending positive thoughts and healing vibes your way, if I find a poorly dressed chubby elf, I’ll send him too.

I'm pretty sure that I can say this on behalf of all your readers: Your health is more important than you getting back to writing. But if you're using it as a measure of how well you're doing, please do make sure you don't overdo it. Hope for a swifter and permanent recovery from whatever this shit was.
