Progress Report Week 35
🕑 Added 2024-09-01 14:59:37 +0000 UTCFirst, I hope that everyone who was able to play the 0.10.10 update enjoyed it. :)
It will be made available for Tier 2, this Friday.
Sweet Affection 0.10.10
Today, I started work on the upcoming update.
I managed to do a lot of prep work the past couple of days so I could get started on working on the art today, right away.
I started with the art for the level up event for Jane and I should be able to finish that somewhere tomorrow.
After which my focus will turn to creating all the art for her Level 5 events.
There will be 13 events in total, so there is going to be plenty of new content for Jane.
After I'm done with all the art for Jane, I will turn my focus towards creating all the art for the planned Lingerie events for Sarah & Shannon.
2 new events for each, but all the events will be something rather special.
(Just like all the other lingerie events.)
I can't really say more than that because the month has only just started, but I can say two things.
1. This is going to be another massive update.
2. This is going to be a very long month for me with zero room for something going wrong.
I should be able to provide more information about this update in the coming weeks.
And as well share one or two previews. :)
For now, I'm going to continue with part of the Q&A
Q&A
I'm saying part because I've been so busy with work the past week and I know
I will be swamped with work the coming weeks as well.
So, I decided to split the Q&A through multiple posts.
There were 6 questions in total that I want to cover and I will do the first 3, today
1.a What happened to Project X?
Project X is still being worked on but I simply don't have enough time to work on it.
Updates for Sweet Affection take so much time that by the end of the day, I just want to lay down on the couch and relax for a couple hours.
And whenever I try to ignore that feeling and work on it for an hour, I get punished for that the next week by feeling completely drained.
Sweet Affection is my top priority and I have to make sure I'm fit enough to work on that.
Most of the time I end up writing a bit of content for it, but at this stage I have pretty much written the entire game and I'm just waiting to be able to create the art for it.
And because I don't want to release an intro with 50 images and then let everyone wait for months for another update of 50 images.
I decided to not release anything at all.
So, the project is not canceled but I simply lack the time to work on it.
2. Are you still happy with the progress you are making with Sweet Affection?
Yes and no.
I think everyone knows how much I love working on Sweet Affection and how much I care about all the characters.
Creating and updating their stories, bringing them to life.
It's been a joy for the past couple of years and it's still a joy.
All of the characters have become a huge part of my life at this stage and they mean the world to me.
However, I would be lying if I said that I'm not a little bit tired.
Not of the characters or anything like that.
But I've been developing Sweet Affection for 5+ years now.
And I think I underestimated how much work it would be when I first started.
How it would take over my entire life.
I think if I had to do it all over again.
Then I wouldn't have introduced this many side-characters and probably lowered the amount of Sarah & Shannon events per level.
(There about 60+ events for both Sarah & Shannon per level, so 120 per level in total... and well over 1.200 events in total at this stage... and that is not even including all the side-character content.)
So, yes. I am still very happy with the development of Sweet Affection.
And I am happy being the one developing it. :)
I am fully invested into Sweet Affection and until that is completely finished
(Every single character and every single story.)
But I also very eager to start working on a new story or bring new characters to life.
3. What do the ending levels for Sarah & Shannon mean exactly?
The ending levels for Sarah & Shannon will be small jumps into the future to show the next chapter in their lives.
(First jump will be 3 months, second jump will be 6 months, last jump will be 6 months again.)
The ending levels will also be shorter than the normal levels in the game.
Instead of 6 events for both characters each hour (Knock, Open, Peep)
There will be 3 events in total for both.
(Spend time with M, spend time with S, spend time together.)
At this stage, Sarah & Shannon and the MC talked about everything.
They know what they want in life.
So the ending levels will serve to show that life. (along with a surprise that I won't spoil.)
This means that the 3 ending levels in total should take about the same time as developing 1.5 full levels for Sarah & Shannon.
Which also means, we are nearing the end of their story! :)
But, there will be more information about that once I start development on it.
Simply because there are some things I don't want to spoil for everything.
Next week, I will answer the following 3 questions.
4. When are you going to develop the other side-characters.
5. What about Private Community?
6. Are you still looking to hire someone.
For now, I'm going to end this post and get back to work. :)
I wish everyone a great remainder of the weekend and hopefully have fun with the 0.10.10 update.
I'll be back this Wednesday with the first preview for the 0.10.11 update
And this Friday with the Tier 2 release for 0.10.10.
If you have any questions, you can always reach me here or on discord.
Thank you to everyone who is supporting us.
