Seven Years

On the whole, my Facebook memories largely serve as a reminder of how cringe I used to be in my late 20s, but today they served to remind me of something nice and fun. To paraphrase David Bowie; "Seven years, what a surprise, We've got seven years, my brain hurts a lot, Seven years, that's all we've got".
Seven years ago I launched the Twitter account, wrote a vague Facebook post, and started to contact people to talk about Bond films. It took me ages to think of the name, and I ran through different variations - My first thought was "Smiert Spionam", but in hindsight, I am very pleased I didn't go with that. Not very SEO friendly.
I settled on "Smersh Pod" mainly because I liked how it sounded, and I had vague visual images of "The Lives of Others" with the loose concept being that SMERSH were listening in on guests thoughts and feelings on Bond films. I know, stupid, and woolly and not particularly well thought through, but it had a ring to it, and still does, I think, even if the whole Russia thing is an unfortunate bedfellow.
Here's to seven more, and I am recording a new episode tonight which I am sure will be of interest to you all!
