Toile: Corset
This turned out better than I anticipated as my first ever corset! It proves that if you take times to learn the basic, you can make anything. Nothing can go wrong as long as you get the pattern right.I spend some Patreon money to buy plastic bonings, grommets and cotton tapes for some of the boning channels. I'm so glad I bought the grommet kit this time because I finally learn how to install...
Detailing: Corset
Mainly adding the binding and lacing. This if my first time making lacing so you can see me struggle a lot. I'm sure you can find better way to do it from YouTube.
Corset
Instruction based on the combination of Zachary et al and Armstrong. I originally tried to do the full corset instruction by Zachary et al but I cannot get the bra section to work. Bra making is a specialized area which I’m not keen of spending more time with because women lingerie is my least favorite garment to make.I settled on Armstrong “corselet” (P90) because it is simpler but still ha...

Toile: Men Brief
I also tried it on myself. The waistband is a bit loose on me because when making the pattern I intentionally loosen it slightly because the manikin does not have the elasticity of real flesh. This is the tutorial that I follow to sew this. The pattern is not the same, but I use the same technique to sew the waistband and the elastic. Like him, I use a serger and twin needle to sew most part.I also...
Detailing: Men Briefs
The main modification to stuff the crotch so that it will not be mistaken as women panties. The rest is routine like changing fabric and topstitching.I also recommend adding brand graphic to the waistband. Many of the reference I saw have it.

Toile: Hooded Jacket
The cuff becomes stretched out while I'm working on it, it loses some of its elasticity. But overall, I'm satisfied with the result.I want to share with you guys some of my though process while working on this. The zipper I have is not long enough. Ideally, it should extend all the way to the bottom.
Detailing: Hooded Jacket
The main modification is to construct a concealed zipper. I also show how I detail the hood opening edge without folding the fabric. Basically by offsetting some internal lines and manipulating the fold angle. The rest is routine like changing fabric, seam type, topstitch, puckering and trims. In the end, the final result look just a like knit hoodie. If you want to make this solely for render purp...

Reference garment: Carhartt Flannel-Lined Active Jac J140Bodice instruction based on Aldrich flat overgarment block. I already did one before, but this time I remove the built-in seam allowance during the drafting process. I also incorporate men shaping (adding more volume to the back) within the draft itself instead of manipulating the traced pattern.Sleeve instruction based on Aldrich “shaped ...

I'm pretty happy with the result. The fit is perfect. One important design that I did not sew is the elastic waist casing. Maybe next time. All files available in the attachment.
WIP 1: High Viz Workwear Toile
In this post I will explain the modification I make to prepare the patterns for real life sewing. Keep in mind that the toile I made is a bit more than just basic toile because it includes some details but not a complete prototype either. The following are the overall modifications that I used for all of my projects:1. Seam allowance. I use 1 cm seam allowance for normal seam and 1.5 cm seam allowa...
Detailing: High Viz Workwear
More than 7 hours long. Even longer if I didn't edit out the time just staring at the reference pictures. But don't be intimidated, this is quite easy to make as long you start with a good base. Like most thing in art and design, work from big to small. The knee area was particularly puzzling to me. I have no idea how it made. I saw some darts or knee pad. It is also asymmetrical, but I kep...

Toile: Blouse & Skirt
Not enough waistband ease. I cannot close the skirt at the back. I will also probably make the skirt wider if this is real garment. All files available here.I already corrected the waistband in the file (8 cm more waist ease added)
Blouse & Skirt Detailing
Nothing much to comment here. Pretty easy garment to make. One thing to contemplate is the type of closure for the skirt, like zipper, hook, buttons etc. But this is omitted in 3D because it will be hidden anyway. Another possibility is that the waistband is elastic, so no closure is needed.
Blouse & Skirt
Reference garment: This random blouse.Bodice and sleeve block based on Jungclaus“Blouse”. Quite a lot of modification by me because this Clo avatar has significantly smaller bust but wider hip. I omitted the waist darts. The shoulder-bust dart is later merged to open the side-bust dart (French dart).Skirt based on Armstrong“gathered dindrl skirt” (p292).Subscribers can watch the rest of th...

Toile: Military Jacket
The amount of details overwhelmed me. I decided to forgo the waist/hem casing, and sleeve tab for now. I actually planned to include the epaulet, but I forgot. I tried it on myself, and the fit was OK but a bit tight at the underarm. So, if I am to redo it, I will lower the underarm point by an inch. It will make the armhole larger and easier to sew. This one was especially difficult and took a lo...

Sewing WIP: Military Jacket, Flap pocket
I will share a bit of my sewing here. Nothing serious, just posting what is on my mind.I almost finish with the sewing pattern for the military jacket. Not a basic toile but not a complete prototype either. But I always included something new to learn. This time I want to sew the pockets. I thought the bellow pocket is harder, but the flap pocket is actually harder. I can't visualize the patter...
